Forever Young - that's how most people want to be. Although ageing isn't avoidable, the process of ageing can be slowed down, and you can feel young for a very long time.

Sthenia knows how much people love to be forever young, so we decided to share with you some personal habits that you have and can make you age faster - avoiding these habits will make you forever young.

Lack of sleep.

It's been proven that lack of sleep leads to impaired cognition and memory performance. When you sleep less than normal over time, it affects your immune system negatively, decision-making processes, and other important brain functions. Lack of sleep also affects your aging process - reduced skin elasticity, uneven pigmentation and under-eye puffiness have all been linked to poor sleep quality. It is important to get about 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night. If you discover you're waking up tired during the day, talk to your doctor to treat any sleep disorders.

Lack of Exercise.

Research shows that people who do not exercise regularly have higher rates of cardiovascular disease and other age-related illnesses. Exercise helps to increase beneficial hormones such as testosterone, lowers cortisol levels, improves mood and controls blood pressure. It also keeps your weight stable and prolongs your life span. Exercising will benefit you not only today but in the years to come.

Unhealthy Eating.

Eating foods containing a large amount of fat and carbohydrate causes premature aging. Processed foods, red meats, white bread, and margarine cause inflammation in your body and it leads to a wrinkling skin. These foods also add unhealthy levels of sodium, cholesterol and fat into your body, increasing your likelihood of obesity. Eating a suitable amount of protein promotes healthy skin and reduces wrinkles.

Excess exposure to the sun.

Excessive exposure to UV rays weakens your skin's blood vessels and skin cells, making it dry and leathery. Tanning beds are even worse for your skin. A tanning bed exposes you to up to 15 times more dangerous radiation than sitting in the sun, leading to wrinkles, brown spots and worst of all, skin cancer.

Apply sunscreen to your face and other body parts that will get exposed to the sun daily, you can also have a hat on. Let your kids know of the dangers of excessive sun exposure, and they can also wear sun protection often.
